Yes, JP1 is a serial connector: GND, TX, RX, 3.3V.

This one is the same connector of Fonera 2200 last hardware version.

[...] Oggi sono finalmente riuscito a passare in ufficio per ritirare LaFonera+ inviata da Fon nel pacco per beta tester. Non mi dilungo nella descrizione, visto che ADM ne ha già scritto con dovizia di particolari. [...]

Good review.
Let me add that Fonera+ solves any problems the "old" Fonera had with 10 MB Half Duplex devices.

To sum it up, Fonera (As opposed to Fonera+) worked intermittently when connected to 10baseT Half duplex network devices. Laptop and some wireless routers are known to have problems, too, when connected to fixed speed Half Duplex network devices (i.e. fastweb)

The solution was simple: put an hub or a switch between your fastweb router and La Fonera.
Using La Fonera+, this workaround is not needed anymore.

@Freddy The francofon team already discovered that the getty is disabled on serial port.
Always from France Lama Bleu made a dump af all flash partitions.
Maybe this could help.
I have no time nor skills to do it :)

My French is really bad ;)

But I can see that I was right with the 4 pins/serial port.

And they disabled the getty for the serial port...
I don't know if it's possible to read the flash with redboot.
If it's not possible get a JTAG cable and read the flash modify it and flash it back.
To enable the serial console add a line to /etc/inittab:
tts/0::askfirst:/bin/ash --login
Once you've your serial/ssh console try to find a bug ;)
